Station 202

A Raspberry Pi with a damaged camera sits on my desk. When I am there, it streams what it sees to the page, live. Not the image. The image is thrown away on the device. Only a rough field of green pixels leaves the room.

When I am not there, it plays a recording. At night it plays me sleeping, naked. You are not told which one you are looking at.

Most of the time it does not look like anything. A grid of green blocks. Then something moves, and the brain fills in the rest. A desk. A hand. A body. Fully exposed and too low-res to actually see.

I work in IT security. My job is deciding who is allowed to see what. My most known film is Sleep, eight hours of me sleeping. Hidden and exposed at the same time. Station 202 is the same thing, left running as a machine.

It looks like a surveillance monitor from an Apollo-era test that everyone forgot about, or from a future where we lost the good technology and kept the cameras.

He is naked. Is this porn? Or just some green Lego bricks?

It runs whether anyone is watching or not. See it in apn201.art
